Discover the remarkable teas of Hawaiʻi with
a curated subscription from Buddha's Cup.
Our teas are grown and crafted in Hawaiʻi, where volcanic soil, tropical sunshine, and abundant rainfall create truly distinctive teas.
From hand-fired and hand-rolled teas to distinctive Hawaiian-grown varieties, our teas celebrate both traditional techniques and island innovation.
Your tea comes directly from the source, giving you a closer connection to the farms, people, and craftsmanship behind every cup.
Hawaiʻi may be famous for coffee, but its remarkable growing conditions also produce fascinating teas worth discovering.
Each month, the Buddha's Cup farm team hand-selects a featured Hawaiian tea for you to discover and enjoy. One month might introduce you to something bold and hand-fired. Another might bring a delicate white tea, vibrant hibiscus, Hawaiian matcha, coffee leaf tea, or another unique selection from our collection. It's more than keeping your tea cabinet stocked. It's an opportunity to explore the flavors, craftsmanship, and agricultural diversity of Hawaiʻi one cup at a time.

A versatile bundle with smooth, bold, and well-balanced teas.
Where it was grown, how it was harvested, how the leaves were handled, and even how they were fired or rolled can dramatically change what eventually reaches your cup.
Rather than drinking the same tea month after month, the Tea Club gives you an opportunity to explore. You may discover something earthy and complex, something bright and refreshing, or a tea you never knew existed. That's part of the fun.

Coffee may have made Kona famous, but there's another side of Hawaiian agriculture waiting to be explored.
Buddha's Cup approaches tea with the same curiosity, craftsmanship, and connection to the land that has helped define our award-winning coffee.
Some teas are hand-fired. Others are carefully rolled. Some are familiar varieties transformed by Hawaiʻi's growing conditions, while others challenge what you might even think of as "tea."
The Tea Club brings that experience home.
Put the kettle on.
Your next taste of Hawaiʻi is waiting.
The Hawaiian tea subscription ships a 2.5 oz bag of tea each month from the farm in Holualoa. Choose one bag or two. The farm team picks what goes in it, so what lands in your cupboard changes month to month rather than repeating. Shipping is free for members, and membership also takes 10% off everything else at Buddha's Cup for as long as it stays active.
Rotating selections from what the farm grows and makes: hand-fired black tea, hand-rolled Fire Blend, white tea, Hawaiian matcha, hibiscus, coffee leaf tea, and loose leaf with lemongrass. Each shipment is a single tea in a 2.5 oz bag. The point is variety, so a run of several months gives you several different teas rather than a standing order of one.
Coffee leaf tea is made from coffee leaves rather than roasted seeds. Leaves are picked, dried, and steeped like any other loose leaf tea. The cup is light and mild with none of the roast character of coffee, and it carries considerably less caffeine than a brewed cup. Most coffee farms sell the seed and leave the leaf on the tree. It appears in the Tea Club rotation because this farm grows both crops.
Two things. Hawai'i Island grows tea in young volcanic soil, at elevation, with steady rainfall, and it is one of the only places in the United States where the tea plant grows commercially.
The second difference is labeling. A good deal of tea sold as "Hawaiian tea" was grown overseas and blended or packed in the islands. Growers here reserve the word Hawaiian for native plants such as māmaki, and use "Hawai'i-grown" for Camellia sinensis actually farmed in the state. Worth knowing which one you are buying.
Orders ship monthly from the farm on Hawai'i Island. Shipping is free with a Tea Club membership. The standard method is USPS Ground Advantage, which usually takes 2 to 7 business days to reach the mainland.
Yes, any of the three, at any time. There is no long-term commitment and no fee for stopping. Skip a month if you are still working through the last one, swap, pause, or cancel outright, all from your account.
One heaped teaspoon per 8 oz cup, then match the water to the leaf. Black tea and hibiscus take water just off the boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Oolong wants around 195°F for 3 minutes. White tea wants 175°F for 2 to 3 minutes and turns bitter above that. Matcha is whisked into 175°F water rather than steeped. Whole leaf will give you a second infusion, so don't bin it after one pour.
Airtight, opaque, cool and dry, away from the stove and away from anything with a smell.
Tea takes on odors from spices, coffee, and onions faster than most people expect. Skip the fridge, where condensation does the damage. Stored properly, black and oolong hold for roughly two years, white and green closer to one. A 2.5 oz bag yields about 20 to 25 cups, which is why it ships monthly instead of in bulk.
